Meet Jeff Walker

I believe successful grant funding requires more than a strong proposal. Nonprofits also need the systems, processes, and organizational capacity to manage funding responsibly, demonstrate results, and sustain impact over time.Over the past 13+ years, I have worked across nonprofit grants, compliance, finance, and operations, helping organizations secure and manage millions of dollars in grant funding while strengthening compliance, reporting, internal controls, and organizational effectiveness. That experience showed me a growing need for practical support and professional education that extends well beyond grant writing.As both a Grant Professional Certified (GPC) and Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS), I founded Walk & Talk Grants to help nonprofit professionals and organizations strengthen the entire grant lifecycle—from readiness and funding strategy to implementation, compliance, and sustainability. My goal is simple: help organizations secure, manage, and sustain funding with confidence.My experience also includes serving as a grant reviewer, advisory board member, and presenter for nonprofit, academic, and government initiatives. These roles have given me perspectives from both sides of the process: developing and managing grant-funded programs while also understanding what reviewers, funders, and partners look for in strong organizations and successful projects.Today, I serve as a Grants & Compliance Director while continuing to lead Walk & Talk Grants and Walk & Talk Grants Academy. Through consulting, practical tools, and professional education, I aim to make grants management more understandable, approachable, and useful for the people doing the work.Because ultimately, strong grants management isn't just about compliance. It's about building organizations that can use funding effectively, serve their communities well, and create lasting impact.
